Updated on February 8th, 2023

DentalInsurance.com founder,Mark Kelsey, holds a B.A. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard University. Mark was a pioneer in the field of online dental sales, launching DentalInsurance.com on Valentine’s Day in 2001. The website was the first online exchange for dental insurance plans and provided consumers with a convenient tool to compare premiums and benefits. Now beginning its third decade in existence, the website has proven itself an enduring landmark in the dental benefits landscape.

In the past two decades under Mr. Kelsey’s leadership, not only has DentalInsurance.com grown but it has also extended its relationships within the larger field of dental health benefits. Notably, the company has joined the National Association of Dental Plans (NADP). The NADP is the leading trade organization within the arena of dental benefits and represents more than 80 percent of the U.S.’s B2C dental insurance industry. Through the NADP network of industry stakeholders, DentalInsurance.com maintains its competitive edge as the dental plan marketplace with one of the broadest selections of insurance options for consumers as well as members of associations. These coverage options range from plans delivering care through dental health maintenance organizations (DHMO) and preferred provider organizations (DPPO) to indemnity plans that pay fixed reimbursements for dental care.

Mr. Kelsey is the CEO of Kelsey National Corporation, the parent company of DentalInsurance.com and an insurance agency successfully operating for over 55 years. The company not only brokers individual and group plans but also provides nationwide third party administration services. Under Mr. Kelsey's guidance and administration, his insurance agency expanded its services online ahead of the competition as well as predating later health insurance exchanges like Healthcare.gov and Medicare.gov.

Mr. Kelsey is also the past president of PIMA, the Professional Insurance Marketing Association. PIMA is a leading trade association within the sponsored benefits market with members from 120 countries across the world. Mr. Kelsey has continued his relationship with PIMA over the years having served not only as President but also on its Board of Directors. He has also delivered talks at PIMA regarding the dental insurance market based on his experience selling the plans since 1981.

Alongside his many professional accomplishments, Mr. Kelsey is an active member of the Young President’s Organization.
