Plaque

Plaque is the sticky film of bacteria that forms on the teeth after eating. Inadequate brushing and flossing will fail to remove plaque from the teeth, and this residual plaque can eventually cause bad breath. Additionally, if you do not have good brushing and flossing habits, plaque can remain on teeth and lead to the condition known as gingivitis. Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gum tissue caused by a buildup of plaque.
