Pre-existing Condition

A pre-existing condition is a dental condition that was present in a person prior to that person enrolling in a dental plan. Note that a pre-existing condition does not have to be diagnosed prior to the effective date of a dental policy, it merely has to exist prior to the effective date.

Pre-existing dental conditions are commonly covered by dental plans. Some polices, however, may exclude coverage of certain pre-existing dental conditions (such as a missing tooth).
