Deductible

A deductible is a pre-determined dollar amount that a dental plan enrollee must pay out-of-pocket for covered care before the plan begins contributing to the costs of care. A deductible obligation resets at the beginning of every new plan year. In some cases, a dental may choose to waive a deductible for certain procedures such as preventive care.

Many dental plans have deductibles in the range of $50 to $75 per enrollee.
