Frequently Asked Questions

How many times a year can I have my teeth cleaned?
Members are entitled to two cleanings at the DentalSave fee per enrollment period. Additional cleanings are offered at a courtesy fee.

Q: What is work in progress? Is it discounted?
Patients must join the Plan prior to start of any dental procedures.  They are not entitled to the discount rates if they in the middle of treatment.

Q: Are cosmetic procedures discounted? If so, what procedures?
Discounts are offered for specialized dental care including Cosmetic Dentistry as listed in Fee Schedule. Non-listed procedures, performed by participating general dentist and Specialists, are provided to all members at 20% off the dentist’s usual and customary fee.

Q: Is Orthodontia discounted? What are the Orthodontia services? If yes, is Invisalign braces discounted?
Yes, orthodontia is discounted. Any member accepted for orthodontic treatment must remain a member of the Dental Plan for full duration of their treatment or risk additional charges from their participating Orthodontist. Orthodontists may charge an additional fee for extremely complex or lengthy cases. (Longer than 24 months). Invisalign braces are discounted at a 15% courtesy fee.

Q: Do I need to obtain claim forms?
No claim forms are needed. All charges for dental services are to be paid by the member directly to the dentist.

Q: Is this insurance?
DentalSave is not insurance. It is a network of private dentists who provide their services for Plan members at reduced rates.

Q: Can I change my dentist once I am in the plan?
Members may change dentists at any time. Please call us to confirm the dentist you have chosen is still participating in the dental plan.

Q: My dentist isn't currently in the directory. What can I do?
If your dentist is not in our directory, feel free to refer them to the Plan for participation and qualification procedures.

Q: How long does it take to process my application?
Your dental benefits are effective the day we process your application and valid for one year to the date of enrollment, which is opposite of what is done with dental insurance.

Q: When will I receive my membership package and what will it include?
Membership package is received by the member within 3 to 5 business days after the application is processed. Two cards per membership, be it single, couple, or family is sent along with a current Fee Schedule.

Q: If I choose to pay by credit card, what will my credit card statement read?
Your credit card statement will read DentalSave.

Q: Is the processing fee billed separately or with the plan payment?
The processing fee is billed along with the plan payment and is non-refundable.

Q: Do the applicant name and the billing name need to be the same?
No. The applicant name and the billing name need not be the same.

Q: What if I need to change my membership from Individual to Family Coverage?
Membership can be changed from Individual to Family Coverage at a prorated amount.

Q: How do I add or cancel membership for additional members?
To add or cancel coverage for a dependent, please contact us.

Q: If I cancel the policy, will I receive a refund of the payment or processing fee?
Membership fees are fully refundable within 30 days upon receipt of your application. After 30 days, annual Plan holders are entitled to a prorated refund based on how much time is left on their membership. All Refund Requests must be made by calling us at 800.828.2222.

Your one time processing fee is non refundable.
